Couples Therapy

"Love rests on two pillars: surrender and autonomy.  Our need for togetherness exists alongside our need for separateness."

- Esther Perel

Couples therapy is a chance for couples to re-connect. Often communication has broken down and we may be having the same arguments over and over. However, therapy is not just for times of crisis. It can also be used as a way of strengthening communication and forging an even deeper connection

Often conflicts in relationships are due to one or both parties not feeling heard, seen, respected or cared for.

Couples therapy offers a place for you to be heard and hear what your partner is telling you and to learn new ways of communicating your own needs more effectively.

Key Benefits of Couples Therapy :

  •  Improved Communication: Learning to express needs, listen actively, and stop defensive or aggressive communication patterns.
  • Conflict Resolution: Developing constructive ways to handle disagreements regarding money, intimacy, parenting, or in-laws.
  • Rebuilding Trust and Intimacy: Addressing infidelity, jealousy, or emotional distance to restore connection.
  • Navigating Life Transitions: Coping with challenges like marriage, having children, career changes, or aging.
  • Preventative Care: Strengthening a healthy relationship and proactively improving, not just repairing, the partnership.
  • Deciding on Future Steps: Providing a neutral space to determine whether to stay together, fix issues, or separate amicably

Sessions can be 50 minutes or up to 1 hour and 40 minutes.
